This story not only maps the simplicity of the untouched beauty of Kashmir, but also focusses on the realities of life that encompass poverty and endurance; nudging parallel to hope and joy, in the lives of the people who reside there. To the people in the village on the six o clock Knoll, it is easier to deal with the hampering fissures, created by nature, than dealing with fellow humans who are misled and bent on tearing apart the tranquillity of their lives. Saira, nevertheless, has no such confusions, when she is thrown into an adventure, which forces her to embark on a treacherous journey, fraught with danger and violence. Deep within her heart lies the faith that even if she is just ten years old, bravery, determination and confidence can win in any situation, however bad it is!

Vaneeta Vaid The daughter of an IFS diplomat and wife of an Army Officer, Vaneeta Vaid is not new to the world of story writing for children. Known as the creator of the popular Janoo and Wooly Woo series and a recipient of several IBH original stories competition awards, she happily admits she loves her work. This year saw six non-fiction releases for children to her credit. A prolific author, Vaneeta Vaid is also a member of the Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children in India.
