Ravinder Singh Chhatwal (Retd) was a fighter controller in the Indian Air Force (IAF). He has commanded a mobile radar unit, a Ground Controlled Interception (GCI) unit and an Air Defence Direction Centre (ADDC). He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, and holds a post graduate degree from Madras University. At present, he is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Air Power Studies, New Delhi, and has worked on issues related to the Chinese military.
